Foundation Training in Mediation
Mediation helps to resolve disputes or conflict with the help of an independent person. This course introduces a basic mediation process for use in disputes between two people. Topics covered will include:
- Conflict roles when working with people
- Mediation and Negotiation skills
- Working effectively for good relations within diverse local communities
- Supervised practice of Mediation in a community cohesion setting
Through discussion, teaching and skills practice, participants develop their ability to facilitate mediation effectively and to understand basic factors which impact on the mediation process.
It is suitable for community workers, individuals with HR responsibilities, teachers, social workers, development workers, supervisors, those who interface with the public, line managers in the workplace, clergy and church workers.
This is an 8 day training course.
(For those who have completed NOCN accredited Handling Life's Conflicts or equivalent the course can be reduced to 6 days.)
