Conflict Intervention and Building Good Relations
This course takes place over 35 hours of training contact time using a mixture of practical exercises, group discussion, input from trainers, direct experience and personal reflection. In addition, participants will also explore and reflect on the topic independently and carry out guided research, amounting in total to 30 hours of learning. It is an extended version of the Building Good Relations course above.
Topics covered will include:
- Mediation and Negotiation skills
- Working effectively for good relations within diverse local communities
- Supervised practice of Mediation in a community cohesion setting
The progression route for learners would potentially be to complete Foundation Training in Mediation (to have a broader depth of knowledge about the concept of mediation), or for those already experienced in mediation, Group Mediation Skills to help them work more effectively with complex mediation situations involving more than two parties.
